The McCracken County Jailer is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the McCracken County Jail. This includes maintaining order and safety within the facility, supervising inmate intake and release procedures, and administering disciplinary actions when necessary.
Jailer Carter is a proud graduate of Crittenden County High School. Jailer Carter began his career in public service as a volunteer firefighter, serving from 2003 to 2025. In 2009, he joined the McCracken County Jail as a Deputy Jailer. Over the years, he has served in every rank within the facility Deputy, Lieutenant, Captain, and Chief Deputy gaining valuable experience and leadership skills along the way.
As your McCracken County Jailer, I pledge to uphold the highest ethical and moral standards for both myself and my staff. I am committed to maintaining an open-door policy for the public and my team, ensuring transparency and accessibility. Every inmate in our facility will be treated with dignity and respect. I will continue to promote educational and vocational programs that offer inmates meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation. These initiatives are essential to reducing recidivism, preventing future crime, and saving taxpayer dollars. |
